Sustainability – we've got the message

All of us need to act now to protect the environment for future generations. That's why sustainability is one of the most crucial challenges of our times. As a manufacturer of specialist foundation engineering equipment, we have recognized that we have to do our part to shape a sustainable future. That's why we are motivated by topics such as efficiency, reducing emissions, alternative drive options as well as a long useful life with minimal wear.

We are making great strides on the path to a sustainable future with our numerous innovations. We look forward to taking this journey together with our customers and partners.

Efficiency

When it comes to efficiency, Bauer Maschinen takes a holistic approach. Productivity and efficiency have a long tradition at Bauer. While these factors were driven by economic concerns in the past, we follow a holistic approach today. How do we achieve this? With our energy-efficient power (EEP) package, for example. It includes numerous modifications to improve the efficiency of our equipment. Furthermore, all secondary consumers were optimized for energy efficiency. This lowers both energy and fuel consumption considerably, and also reduces noise emissions by up to 50%. In the end, everyone benefits from this.

Electrification

An important factor for reducing local CO2 emissions on site is the use of electrically powered equipment. This improves the total carbon footprint of a project. For this reason, we and our subsidiaries have an entire range of electric or hybrid equipment in our portfolios to offer our customers optimal flexibility even when fulfilling strict environmental requirements.

Innovations

Durability

We are proud to produce equipment that is not only powerful and reliable, but also extremely long-lasting. The long service life of our equipment and plants as well as their low wear make an important contribution to the circular economy. This conserves resources and saves energy.

Sustainability in production

Sustainability considerations also play a role in the manufacture of our equipment and plants. At our Schrobenhausen plant for example, two existing oil and gas heating systems were replaced by two new energy-efficient gas heating systems in 2021. At the Aresing plant and the head office in Schrobenhausen, energy is generated by geothermal plants. A photovoltaic system has been installed in the Edelshausen plant that generated slightly more than 350 MWh of energy during 2021. The introduction and increased use of low-solvent water-based paints in 2009 with a solvent content of only 3-6% (about a tenth of that of conventional paints) also helped us greatly to reduce our VOC emissions compared to the previous year. You can read more about this in the Sustainability Report of the BAUER Group.
